Ferndale House
Nestled in the small village of Lydbrook lies this former mill. FERNDALE HOUSE is situated in its own grounds adjacent to the brook that flows into the River Wye. It has recently been modernised to include en-suite facilities including ground floor accommodation which is ideal for older or less able visitors.
Ferndale house offers a homely and peaceful retreat with no restrictions on time for meals or access to rooms, well behaved dogs are also welcome.
Traditional home-cooked eveing meals prepared with locally produced food (wherever possible) are available as well as packed lunches, barbecues and afternoon tea. Vegetarian meals and special diets can also be catered for with prior arrangement.
Ferndale house offers ample car parking and a large garden for use by guests.
LYDBROOK can be found on the north west edge of the Royal Forest of Dean with its mile and half long main street, this small, rural village is said to have the longest street of any other English village.
The forest offers a range of activities to its visitors including horse riding, golf, biking, canoeing and of course the many scenic walks through this beautiful setting which hosts an array of features all year round.
A short distance from Ferndale House is the world famous beauty spot, SYMONDS YAT. This spectacular location is a must visit to walkers, bird watchers and photographers with its panoramic views over the river.
Ferndale House is within easy reach of two historic market towns, Ross on Wye and Monmouth and also the cathedral cities of Hereford, Gloucester and Worcester. The Falconary Centre with aviaries, hawk walk and flying demonstrations, The Butterfly & Natural World Centre and also 'Shambles' - The Museum of Victorian Life can all be found in Newent.

Pre-arrival There is a bus stop 50mts from our entrance along level paths and the service frequent.TheTrain Station is 15mins by car.We have 3 letting Bedrooms , one of which is on the ground floor.Our web site shows photographs of Bedrooms, Dining room and outside.
Arrival and Car Parking Facilities We have ample parking within our enclosed walled gardens. A flat tarmac surface allows access to the front entrance via one step onto the path. The entrance is lit by sensor lighting. All Dogs are welcome , feeding and water bowls provided.
A Porch allows entry to the main entrance.
Main entrance and recection Entrance is into reception lobby, providing access to ground floor Bedroom, Dining room and to 1st floor bedrooms via 8 step stairs.Guests are escorted to rooms and facilities explained. A bell within reception for guest requiring attention.
Public Areas (internal) The Dining room has wooden floor withfitted carpet to the 8 step stairs, corridors and Bedrooms. All ensuites are tiled floor and walls.
Public areas - WC Guest bedrooms are ensuite, a external Toilet is located behind the Granary.
Dining room and Lounge Breakfast is served in the Dining room located on the ground floor.Tables has underspace of 67cm high with legs on either side.tables and chairs can be arranged to suit larger partys.High chairs available.Vegan, Vagetarian and all other diets catered for. A lounge with log fire is avalable upon request.
Laundry Drying facilities are provided within Outhouse and Laundry room.A washing service is provided , a small charge is normally made.
Shop A local village shop 4mins walk, sells all types of food, baby milk, daily papers,milk and has a cash machine. The local Garage is 2min in a car.
Bedrooms All rooms are double ensuite with lockable door. 2 Bedrooms are 1st floor and one ground suitable for the less able. Televisions all have remote controls. Carpets are all short pile , with tiled floors and walls in ensuites.Bedside lighting supplement a centre light.The 1st floor rooms have a double and single bed. Cots avalable. Ensuite Entrace door width 75cm inward opening, one step down.The Shower cubicle has a step/edge of 14cm high.The Basin has clear underspaceand 86cm high.The Toilet is 46cm high.
Grounds and gardens The grounds and gaeden are stone walled and fully contained. Apart from one path step 10cm high the grounds are level. A raised ornamently fish pond and lawn are available to guests to relax and children to play.children must be suppervised. The house is set at the end of the village with trees and a brook running bye.

No responsibility can be accepted for children and dogs while at Ferndale.
There is a Brook, Fish Pond and main Gates leading to the road.
Refund Policy
Refunds will be made within 4 days of notification / agreement.
Cancellation Policy
If cancelled up to 4 days before the date of arrival deposit only will be charged. If cancelled later or in the case of no - show the first night will be charged.

Ferndale house takes the privacy of your personal data very seriously . Your personal information will only be used to process your booking. Payments are processed using Pay-Pal. All debit/credit card details will not be retained or stored.
